Shipping Info

As we’ve grown, our packaging and shipping experience has grown as well. We now have a full-time shipping manager to preside over our packages. Almost daily, he repeats our mantra:

“The last thing you do is the first thing the customer sees. Make it right.”

Our items are packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes, or sandwiched between two pieces of 1″ cardboard hex material. Depending on the material, we may also include side boards to further protect the material from bending during shipment.

UPS choices range from “Next Day Air-Early AM” to “Ground”.
USPS $10.50 flat rate box or envelope, on qualified orders.
Freight for oversize orders (over 36” x 48”, 96” long, or more than 150 lbs).

UPS automatically covers all packages for damage or loss and any affected orders are re-shipped at no charge.

Will-call service is available in Springfield, Virginia. For more information and directions, click here.

If you have any questions, or if your order requires faster shipping than what we’ve described above, please feel free to contact us at, or call us at (703)550-7300

Packaging Process

Cutting – Rod, Bar, and Tube

Our rod, bar, tube, and structural products are cut on Bob saws – all of our cut pieces, with the exception of the random 10-12″ pieces we sell, have a guaranteed tolerance of +0.0625″, -0.0625″, meaning that your material will always clean up to the correct dimensions.

Cutting – Sheet and Plate

Our sheet and plate items are cut on our Pearson, a 10-foot machine that reduces the size of metal. It has a digital back-gauge, and typical tolerances are +/-.063 (or tighter), on everything from .016″ all the way up to 1/4″ stainless plate.
