Shipping and Delivery
Standard shipping is done with all major ground carriers, including FedEx, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS), and Freight Delivery. Please allow up to 3 days for warehouse processing. Once your order leaves our warehouse, transit time is up to 7 to 10 business days.
Shipping and processing charges for all items is based on the item size and weight. We do our best to provide you with accurate shipping and delivery times on all our designs, but please note that these times are estimates only.
Freight Delivery is only used for heavy and/or oversized shipments. These deliveries will be made Monday through Friday during business hours. Deliveries are scheduled in a 4-hour time window and a company representative will contact you by phone to arrange a delivery appointment.
Privacy & Security
This privacy policy is designed to provide a clear understanding that our customers will provide their personally identifiable information and that information is going to be used to identify, contact and locate the individual as required to fulfill the business between two parties. All personal information is given to us by the customers free will. We may use aggregated data to advertise and promote our business and do not sell or trade this private information to third parties.
Returns and Placement
Item returns must be made in-store and will be subject to a maximum of 15% restocking fee if purchase was made in the past 30 days. However, purchases made with a custom order may not be returned.

Payment, pricing, & Promotions
Our payment methods are as followed:
Credit cards: American Express, Discover, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, and JCB.
PayPal: New PayPal users should set up their account before starting registration.
Check or money order: Make checks or money orders payable to “Potomac Steel Inc.” Checks must be drawn on U.S. banks. Any checks drawn on non-U.S. banks will be returned.

POLICY
As we’ve grown, our packaging and shipping experience has grown as well. We now have a full-time shipping manager to preside over our packages. Almost daily, he repeats our mantra:
“The last thing you do is the first thing the customer sees. Make it right.”
Our items are packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes, or sandwiched between two pieces of 1″ cardboard hex material. Depending on the material, we may also include side boards to further protect the material from bending during shipment.
SHIPPING OPTIONS
Depending on the proximity of the jobsite, an order could be delivered as early as in a day, but most likely takes between 2-5 days, we only serve at DMV areas withing 50 miles radius to Springfield VA.
INSURANCE
UPS automatically covers all packages for damage or loss and any affected orders are re-shipped at no charge.

Cutting – Rod, Bar, and Tube
Our rod, bar, tube, and structural products are cut on Bob saws – all of our cut pieces, with the exception of the random 10-12″ pieces we sell, have a guaranteed tolerance of +0.0625″, -0.0625″, meaning that your material will always clean up to the correct dimensions.
Cutting – Sheet and Plate
Our sheet and plate items are cut on our Pearson, a 10-foot machine that reduces the size of metal. It has a digital back-gauge, and typical tolerances are +/-.063 (or tighter), on everything from .016″ all the way up to 1/4″ stainless plate.
STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steel materials are used for areas where more strength and corrosion resistance is necessary.
ALUMINUM
Aluminum materials are widely used for areas where more strength and corrosion resistance is necessary.
STEEL
Steel is one of the most used, low carbon materials in manufacturing, fabrication, and repair projects.
